The building is located in the western part of Düsseldorf city center and consists of 8 floors, which are used as office space. It was built in 1974 and has a total area of 9,198 m². As a solitary building at the entrance to the quarter, the office building forms a striking urban development prelude. The revitalization in 2006 included a new internal structure and a modernization of the outer shell based on current energy-saving concepts. The striking structure of the façade is the result of two alternating elements in light-dark contrast: the white Alucobond façade stands as a tectonic framework in front of the dark glazing. The special quality of the façade is its cost-effectiveness with extreme contouring and plasticity. The core of the 50 x 22 m building was extended in the middle and truncated at the ends. It was proven that the workplace efficiency in the building was increased by 30 % by optimizing the floor plan design.
